About Us
GuidanceResources® by ComPsych offers a variety of services including consultations with clinicians for anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, life adjustments, relationship challenges, marital conflicts, etc. They also provide assistance with finding referrals for resources for things such as child and elder care, hiring movers or home repair contractors, locating pet care, etc. Also, they offer legal guidance for divorce, adoption, family law, wills, and trusts.
GuidanceResources® by ComPsych can be used free of charge as needed when you or your dependents are facing emotional, financial, legal or other concerns.
Living Well at Texas A&M regularly partners with GuidanceResources® by ComPsych (Employee Assistance Program) to provide virtual workshops on various topics.

Free Professional Support
The GuidanceResources® by ComPsych also provides access to free professional support through a variety of services offered at no cost to all Texas A&M employees and their household family members including:
- Confidential Emotional Support: Five face-to-face counseling sessions per covered individual, per issue, per year to help deal with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, and life adjustment.
- Work-Life Solutions: Qualified referrals and resources for just about anything on your to-do list, such as finding child and elder care, hiring movers and contractors, pet care, and planning events.
- Legal Guidance: Attorneys for practical assistance with your most pressing legal issues such as divorce, adoption, wills, trusts, and more. Need representation? Get a free 30-minute consultation and a 25% reduction in fees.
- Financial Resources: Expert assistance with retirement planning, taxes, budgeting, debt, and more.
- Online Support: This program is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to assist with virtually any issue.
How many counseling sessions will employees get and how often can they utilize these sessions?
EAP services are intended to be short term in nature. GuidanceResources® by ComPsych provides free short-term counseling with counselors in your area who can help you with your emotional concerns. The program covers up to eight counseling sessions per covered individual, per issue, per year. If it is determined that the problem cannot be resolved through short-term counseling and longer-term treatment is needed, GuidanceResources® by ComPsych will refer you to a specialist and your insurance coverage will be activated.
Will employees need to use personal or sick leave to see an EAP counselor?
You can attend during work hours but only for EAP counseling sessions through GuidanceResources® by ComPsych are considered University business. Sessions beyond the eight EAP-provided sessions are not considered University business and require regular procedures for the usage of sick leave for doctor appointments.
What happens when I call?
When you call, you will speak with a Guidance Consultant, a master’s- or PhD-level counselor who will collect some general information about you and will talk with you about your needs. The Guidance Consultant will provide the name of a counselor who can assist you. You can then set up an appointment to speak with the counselor over the phone or schedule a face-to-face visit.
What counseling services does Work/Life Solutions provide?
GuidanceResources® by ComPsych provides free short-term counseling with counselors in your area who can help you with your emotional concerns.
If the counselor determines that your issues can be resolved with short-term counseling, you will receive counseling through GuidanceResources® by ComPsychs. However, if it is determined that the problem cannot be resolved in short-term counseling in GuidanceResources® by ComPsych and you will need longer-term treatment, you will be referred to a specialist early on and your insurance coverage will be activated.
Can my children use GuidanceResources® by ComPsych?
Yes, GuidanceResources® by ComPsych is a confidential benefit for employees and their household family members.
Are the services confidential?
Yes, GuidanceResources® by ComPsych is strictly confidential. No information about your participation in the program is provided to your employer.
What if I register for a webinar but can’t attend live?
No problem! If you’re unable to attend, a recording will be sent to your email by the GuidanceResources® by ComPsych team so you can watch it at a time that works best for you.
